Why Jeremy Renner? What's the special things about Jeremy Renner? He's just another (almost) forgotten sidekick super hero. Isn't he?
Honestly, It took so long for me to put a full attention on Jeremy Renner. Yes, i watched his films. Yes, I recognize his effort to play a popular super hero. Yes, I like his cute badass appearance. And yes, finally I love to follow every drama about his fatherhood life.
Jeremy Renner waited long enough before he achieved his shine in major film industry. He becomes popular after he played in The Hurt Locker directed by Kathryn Bigelow. One of great film ever by a rocking lady director. Renner took a role as member of bomb disposal unit in Baghdad. The talented officer but also an asshole one. Even though this film put him to big success, Renner claimed nothing on this earth could drag him to work on a very heat city like Baghdad again (IMDB Trivia). It seems that war is not like a drug enough for Renner.
I have some recommendation about Renner's filmography. Here is the best 5 film of him according to me :

Dahmer (2002)
Dahmer is biographical film directed by David Jacobson. Jeremy Renner plays as Jeffrey Dahmer, a homosexual who also a serial killer. Using his cuteness, Dahmer seduced a lot of boys and ending up the relation by killing them. Creepy, right! His acting in this movie is the reason why Kathryn Bigelow want him for The Heart Locker. Ups, I mean The Hurt Locker.
The Hurt Locker (2008)
Renner achieved his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his role in The Hurt Locker. The award went to another actor but The Hurt Locker put him to the next level of film industry. I guess The Hurt Locker is the reason why Renner become a gun collector. The reason why his ex wife proclaimed Renner has no good father figure and the house is not save for their only child; the sweet little Ava Berlin Renner.
Arrival (2016)
Arrival is a sci-fi film about the 'powerful' human kind who finally succeed to build a communication with the alien by using the universal language. I should put this film as Renner's best film but it is not. Yes, Arrival is one of the best film I've seen. But, Arrival is about Amy Adams, right? She is damn good for her role. Renner's role is not much but it's a perfect touch up. The love of Renner to his daughter make me understand why Denis Villeneuve put Renner as Ian Donelly; a talented physicist who left his wife because he can't stand with their child's death future.
American Hustle (2013)
Once again, Jeremy Renner is really good at playing role a responsible father. Renner acts as ambitious mayor who turn to be a victim of the great conspiracy between the cop and the con men. He has the ambition to build Atlantis City in an instant with dirty money. The cop use his ambition to frame his corrupt action. Yes, Renner plays as supporting role but I recognize his enthusiasm about the fatherhood in this film. Lately I realize it was because Renner officially being a father during the making of American Hustle.
The Town (2010)
The Town is a film about the brotherhood between a local gangster members. Renner is playing along with Ben Afflect who literally bigger than him. But Renner shows the shinning act better than Afflect. The Town took him to receive his second Oscars nomination but this time for Best Supporting Role. Renner lost his award to Christian Bale (for The Figther) hut he won the same category in Screen Actors Guild 2014*.
That's my review about Jeremy Renner. It's totally okay to have a different opinion with mine. I'm aware that i put no superhero movie on my list such as Hensel and Gretel, The Avengers, Bourne Legacy, and also Mission Impossible Series. I just found, Renner looks more attractive when he play as an annoying person than being a super hero. ;) Keep on the good works, Renner!
PS : Renner also has another talent. He is good at music. He plays instruments (piano for most), he write song(s), and has rocking voice.
